Are you a novice fashion designer? Are you interested in big cash prizes and exposure? Would you love to see your fashions featured on a catwalk?
Design Guidelines for the competition:
EcoTrashion Runway is a fashion show featuring innovatively utilized recycled materials in cutting edge fashion, to promote local artists and all forms of recycling.
The show will be at Warehouse 414 in Topeka, Kansas. We are looking for designers and design students who are willing to put forth their creative ideas to make this an inspiring show. We are asking that all designs are submitted to us no later than (date to be announced).
You can either set-up an appointment to turn in your designs or you may mail them to 2020 NW Winter Street, Topeka KS 66608 and have them addressed to Colby Sharples. Included with the designs we will need the following information:
· Name/Names and contact information for all of the designers, design teams, hair stylists, models and make-up artists you will be using for the show.
· Description of the design and concept, accompanied by a sketch of the designs you would like to submit.
· What percent of the design is post-consumer product
· Sources of your recycled materials
· If you will be providing your own make-up artists, hair stylists, and models, or if you need us to provide that for you.
· Cash for the designer entry fee. (Non-refundable and forwarded to local charity, TBA soon)
With all of this information please keep in mind the following details. All models, designers and stylists must be at least 18 years of age. The fees for the designer entry are $10 for a single designer and $20 for a design team. That fee is non-refundable. Each designer/design team may submit up to 5 designs, however we limit 3 designs to be modeled. All designs need to be submitted in advance and we will contact submitters prior to the event to verify if you've been selected for the show.
We are asking that 95% of the design needs to be recycled material. Please note: not all designs will be selected for the show. This protects the show's integrity, and prevents repeat fashions.
The fashion show will be an 18 or older audience. Cash prizes (TBA, soon) and awards will be given to designers selected by our professional judged panel.

Here is a list of possible places to find recycled fabrics in Topeka and some surrounding cities: Salvation Army, Goodwill, Findables, The Merchant, Rock Star and Rogers, Wildman Vintage, Arizona Trading Company, Plato’s Closet and Branded, Warehouse 414, Topeka Home Recycling, Green Point, your own or your office's recycle bin.
